Walk to End Alzheimer's

Updated: Dec 9, 2020

Join Team Stumped Town Dementia to make a difference in the lives of our loved ones facing Alzheimer's and other dementias, as well as providing invaluable support for our journey as care givers!

If you've been doing this dementia caregiving stint for any length of time, you're probably already familiar with the Alzheimer's Association website. Like us, you've most likely consulted the forums, called the 24/7 Helpline, and/or read an article or two online; it's a go-to resource for those of us out on the front lines of this battle.

I fervently invite you to join Team Stumped Town Dementia for the Walk to End Alzheimer's®, Sunday, August 26th. You can support our fundraising efforts in two ways:

  • Walk with us! Take a sunny Sunday morning stroll (August is usually sunny, right?) of 3.5 miles, beginning at the Rose Quarter Commons in NE Portland. Registration begins at 9:00 am (ugh), but the walk doesn't start until 11:00 am (hooray!). So show up late for registration and take a walk with us!

  • Make a donation! If you're not in our area, or just lazy (like we are every other Sunday morning), you can make a donation to assuage your guilt support global research of Alzheimer's and other dementias.

My team goal is $1,000. My personal goal is to spend a lovely morning with family, old friends, and perhaps new friends showing our solidarity in raising awareness and supporting progress in fighting this disease.

You can join Team Stumped Town Dementia, or donate to our goal here. August isn't that far off, make the commitment to join us now. Plus, you get a free t-shirt!

Please be a part of the search for a cure, if not in Mom's time, perhaps in our own.
